History
Built from a local need.
- 1938
The Rescue Squad formed after a Cedar Grove resident needed immediate medical help and Verona was the only available squad.
- 1951
The Ambulance Unit was formed, expanding organized emergency medical service within Cedar Grove.
- 1962
The Ambulance Unit moved to Cedar Street and Ridge Road.
- 1965
The Rescue Squad was based at Pompton Avenue and Myrtle Avenue.
- 1982
The organizations merged into Cedar Grove Ambulance & Rescue Squad.
Today
Training, service, and steady public presence.
The squad provides volunteer EMS response, training, standby coverage, and public service for Cedar Grove residents and community events. Tradition matters here, but so does meeting the expectations of a modern public safety organization.
